Childhood
I needed to see more. I had to.
Born to one of the woods up in the Skatay Range, like many Veena - Norður's early life and childhood was almost pre-determined at birth. Been born a male, he was quite soon taken away from his village, and taught in the ways of the Warder. To protect the woods. That would have been his lot in life.But Norður was never content with this. A Lot of his evenings, he would ponder at the sky on high- the magic of the world had him curious. What possibilities the world could offer him. He would never be content with just being another Warder. Sometimes seeing the wanderers go through the range, he would listen in on their discussions by the fire; enchanted by the tales of magick and adventure. He had to do it. He had to leave. But breaking the Green Word meant that one thing was a certainty.Exile. He could never return.And Norður gladly chose this option.
Teenage years
Home? Home is wherever I stay the night.
Coming down from the mountains of Skatay Range was treacherous, but in due time, the young Norður made his way down. On his way he learned language, to speak common. Finding his own name very hard for the people to pronounce - he re-named himself. A more of a symbolic way to show that he had broken the Green Word, and for him returning back to the Range was no longer an option. Meeting some of the travelling merchants on their way to Kugane, Norður found himself a new name. Taking the name of a trader he met, Jesse - and then allowing one of the travelers to give him a last name. And thus, Jesse Katsusada was born.Jesse had to see all the world had to offer- and what better way to see the world, than to get himself stuck with bunch of Xaela nomads. For him at the time, it seemed quite fitting. A young man with no home to call his own, venturing the Steppe. Every day a new adventure. Soon enough, Jesse grew rather fond of this little rugged band of nomads.
But as fate would have it, even his travels would soon come to an end..A plague swept over the steppe. Many nomadic tribes found themselves ill- not to mention the group Jesse had also been travelling with. The plague was.. merciless, taking men, women and children without prejudice. It didn't take long for many of the people Jesse had come to call "family" had taken ill. One by one. Every week, somebody seemed to perish. The steppe, littered in the dead. Within no time, Jesse and his nomadic retinue had been reduced to just two of them.And then there were only one.
Young Adult
...what difference does it make, anyway?
A shaman from the Steppe had given Jesse an idol to allow him to keep the plague inside, to stop it from spreading and slowing it down. He would not die within a week, but this trinket came far too late for it to matter. Jesse left the steppe a changed and sickly man.Jesse had made a choice - with the time he had left, he would not spend it wallowing in some profound sadness, no. Like this trinket that had saved him, he would also give his life to offer ways to save others.. well, in a way. He had always been the curious one, and now his curiosity would be multiplied. With this second lease at life, Jesse would venture across the continent, searching for curious little trinkets. No matter what kind, those tiny items, helpful or not - he would find them, and pass them onto others. Like the Shaman had passed the trinket onto him, he would also pass out his trinkets to others. Now he spends his life, and what little coin he has both on travelling, and giving back to the people, collecting trinkets from all sorts of cultures and people. Be it in the form of more curious trinkets, like Quills that write only bad jokes, or more useful ones; like pillows that guarantee a wonderful sleep - Jesse is there to show people, that the star they inhabit is a beautiful place to be.

Despite his rather unfortunate past, Jesse is extremely easy-going. Perhaps a bit quiet at times, but when he gets the chance to talk or better yet; give away some of his goods, he is a joy to be around.He believes he has a lot to give back, and because of this almost always refuses to take much money for his items, and if possible giving them away from the kindness of his heart - and believing that this kindness of his will be paid back in kind.Open, ready to give all he has to give for others - but the question is, does he do this as a way to cope, or does he does this out of the kindness of his heart? Regardless, Jesse also has moments of quiet contemplation, although rarely does he show this - he believes that him being on the star is there to bring joy to others, not to cause them worry- this can cause him to be quite humble, even to a fault - and because of this, he is also prone to lying in order to not worry others. If he can keep other people's spirits up, he will do it.Although, the Viera is troubled by his lack of sleep and his illness. But he tries to ignore it, and hide it form others as well. He has yet to confide in someone about either. Perhaps it is due to him believing that he is undeserving of sympathy- or maybe it's his way of coping. Who knows..
